Well met, my name is Daniel Shapiro
I grew up surrounded by medieval literature and fantasy, performing Shakespeare in the backyard with my siblings, and obsessively watching films like “Ever After,” “Much Ado About Nothing,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” and Baz Luhrman’s “Romeo + Juliet”. Naturally, I became a romantic with a penchant for telling a story.
I unknowingly fell in love with flowers when I picked up a job as a shop boy at a mom and pop flower shop. Fast forward to the present day. Fair Verona combines the three facets of my career paths — creative photography, skill with a floral knife, and a passion for gardening. I now design weddings and grow cut flowers. I love love in all of its forms - helping people share that love with the gift of flowers is one of my greatest joys in life.
My approach
My personal style is romantic maximalism. I love texture, contrasting colors, and bringing in unexpected elements into my designs. I thrive under a solid collaboration - this is where you - the client comes in. After an in depth consultation - I will come back to you with options and a narrowed vision that will bring your event to life.
Sustainability
The floral and agriculture industries are unfortunately key polluters aiding global warming. I source organic and seasonal flowers from Pacifc Northwest farmers who practice safe organic farming with zero pesticides while also growing flowers from my own garden. This reduces the carbon footprint significantly in not ordering products from half way around the world. In addition, I go out of my way to upcycle my mechanics and avoid materials like floral foam.
